Hold a loaded backpack tight to the chest so the weight stays close to the body.

Stand with feet about shoulder-width apart and brace the core before hinging.

Push the hips back and let the torso tip forward while keeping the back flat.

Move only as far as you can control while the hamstrings stay loaded and the neck stays neutral.

Stand back up by driving the hips through and keeping the backpack hugged in.
